After a beautiful twisting drive from Kigali, over the ranges which form the watershed between all rivers which flow west to Congo and the others which flow east to become part of the Nile, we arrived in Kibuye.
Took a small boat and spent the afternoon on an uninhabited island in the middle of Lake Kivu on the DR Congo border, eating guavas from the many fruit trees as thousands of bats circled and squawked overhead. Thunderstorms and lighting behind us as we headed back to shore.
A day to remember forever.
