What factors have the most impact in constructing hatred in people’s minds and therefore in a society?

The construction of hatred is complex. There are multiple factors with varying impacts. This is a demanding lessons. In asking students to order the different factors, we are aiming to help them understand and evaluate the concepts. It’s good “assessment as learning” to have each group do a self-assessment at the end.

AIMS AND PURPOSE
For students to understand and evaluate the factors which contribute to building hatred between social groups.
To engage in high order thinking and identify causal relationships between complex social phenomena in conflict situations.
